What is K-Laser?
K-Laser is a Class 4 therapeutic laser that veterinarians use to manage pain and inflammation while accelerating tissue regeneration in pets. Laser therapy has been used in Europe since the 1970’s and was cleared by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2005. Laser therapy has drastically changed the way veterinarians manage treatments in pets as laser therapy is drug free, surgery free and pain free. What sets K-Laser apart is its high power and it is the first therapy laser to have all four wavelengths to provide optimal results with the shortest treatment times.
How does K-Laser work?
The K-Laser delivers specific red and near-infrared wavelengths of laser light to induce a photochemical reaction and therapeutic effect. The laser energy increases circulation, drawing water, oxygen and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasm, stiffness and pain.
K-Laser has allowed vets to reduce pain medication and sometimes stop medication completely in many pets, especially in older pets with arthritis. Studies show that K-Laser helps to reduce pain in multiple conditions including arthritis, ear infection, skin infection, wounds, surgical sites, inflammation of gums (gingivitis), inflammatory bowel disease, bladder inflammation, spider bites, snake bites, neurological and much more.
In the United States 40% of veterinary practices own therapeutic lasers, as they know it works. Many owners have seen great outcomes in their pets with the K-Laser. Some testimonials can be found on the K-Laser website. Therapeutic lasers are newer to New Zealand than the US and it is starting to take off with more NZ veterinary practices jumping on board with this remarkable treatment modality.
